Members of the Warrnambool-based mentor group are half way into their 200 kilometre walk for awareness.
Former Premier Denis Napthine is joining Mark Fidge, Matthew Monk and Matthew Stewart walking from Warrnambool to Geelong.
“Aside from blisters on our blisters we’re faring well,” Mr Napthine said. “We’re covering about 36 km a day. “
Mr Napthine said community involvement had been motivating. “The legs are standing up and I think it’s from the enormous support we’ve been given along the way. People have been giving us a toot, giving us money and cheering us on, it’s been great.”
Mr Napthine said money raised would fund an additional 30 mentors for next year’s program. “It means we can continue to expand the program which benefits the whole community.”
