Daniel Pill, 27, of Gunner Street, pleaded guilty in the Warrnambool Magistrates Court to three breaches of an intervention order, three charges of criminal damage, possession of ice, possession of cannabis, carrying a controlled weapon, failure to appear in court, theft and recklessly causing injury.
Police prosecutor Senior Constable Paul Harris said that in May 2016 an intervention order was put in place preventing Pill from damaging property owned by his mother.
On February 25 police saw Pill at the BP service station in Camperdown and asked him about outstanding warrants. Police searched Pill and found seven grams of cannabis, one point of methamphetamine and a knife. When interviewed by police he made full admissions and said he forgot the drugs were there.
On April 16 Pill was picked up in Warrnambool by his father and became violent and aggressive. He punched his father’s face causing a black eye and his father had to break suddenly because of blurry vision. Pill then pulled his father’s head against the head rest while he was driving.
Pill’s defence counsel said about 18 months ago Pill broke his leg at work and then began using ice. The court heard Pill was using about half a gram of ice a day and he had said there was no excuse for his offending.
The court heard Pill was also facing a breach of a CCO and Magistrate Cynthia Toose adjourned all the matters to June 1.
