The Warrnambool Community Garden will celebrate the vegetable on Sunday from 1pm-4pm with a Pumpkin Festival.
Attendees can purchase pumpkin soup and scones, learn about growing and cooking with pumpkin and tour the garden listening to live music by Bruce Campbell, Lee Morgan and Marianne Navon.
Community garden co-ordinator Hannah Chisholm said all pumpkins had been organically grown on site by communal gardeners who meet weekly and would be available for purchase.
Community garden tours will be held at 1.30pm and 2.30pm.
Kylie Treble from The Place of Wonder will showcase her new book Connect, looking at the chapter about growing and cooking with pumpkins and recipes will be able to be taste tested at 3pm.
Warrnambool City Council’s Active Hub and Giant Games will also be onsite with giant games and other activities.
Mrs Chisholm said it would be a relaxing and informative afternoon where attendees could enjoy the beautiful surrounds of the community garden.
