Three south-west people will join a team of six travelling to the Eagles Wings orphanage/school in Zambia for two weeks in June/July.
Matt Jellie said they would be doing maintenance jobs and starting work on the construction of a new toilet block.
During the second week they will join the students on a 10-hour bus trip to Victoria Falls as mentors/small group leaders.
For Mr Jellie it will be his second trip to Zambia after first visiting as a tourist in 1999. In 2005, he and his wife spent six months teaching English at a school in southern Ethiopia near the Zambian border.
“We’re hoping to take over some laptops and set them up but of course power is an issue over there, just getting enough power to charge things,” he said.
The dance will be held at Naringal Baptist Church from 6.30pm. Tickets are $10 a person or $20 a family.
