Traffic lights in west Warrnambool not operating due to power pole fire

DRIVERS are being warned about a electricity power pole fire that has blacked out two sets of traffic lights in west Warrnambool.

Warrnambool police Sergeant Tom Morris said the pole fire in Fitzroy Road had caused the blackout and it was expected to take at least two hours for electricity to be restored.

"Traffic lights are out at the intersections of Raglan Parade with both  Laverock Road and Hopetoun Road," he said.

"We remind all drivers to treat those traffic lights now as normal intersections and proceed with caution.

"Police are on the scene, Powercor will be arriving shortly and VicRoads have also been notified," he said.
