A grassfire is under control near the Camperdown-Lismore Road, at Lismore

UPDATE 4pm: The fire was contained with the help of a helicopter from Colac on Wednesday.

There was a total of 19 trucks on the scene, as well as a number of private tankers.

The fire burnt between five and 10 hectares of land.

UPDATE 3.10pm: The grassfire is now under control. 

EARLIER: A GRASSFIRE is burning out of control near the Camperdown-Lismore Road, at Larralea.

Firefighters are in attendance, with 18 trucks on the scene.

The CFA have issued an advice message for Derrinallum, Gnarpurt, Larralea and Lismore.

There is currently no threat to communities, but the CFA has advised people should continue to stay informed and monitor conditions.

What you should do: 

  • Monitor weather conditions and warnings as grassfires can spread rapidly. 
  • Keep the roads clear so emergency services can respond.
