The pair, who are president and secretary respectively, have held various roles and are calling for new people with fresh ideas to join the committee.
Mr Watts answered a call out to join 15 years ago when the event’s future was in doubt.
Mrs Watts joined a few years later.
The Port Fairy couple have reinvigorated the show with new sections, an all-day ride wristband for children and quality live entertainment. They leave their roles with the show in a strong financial position and with a positive reputation.
The couple are proud of what they have achieved, including keeping the event going, improving the showgrounds, gaining grants to improve the facilities and attracting new user groups to the premises.
“We’re happy to stay on the committee,” she said. “It’s not like we’re going to retire gracefully, we just want to step down.”
The couple said it was a big job but they enjoyed seeing all their hard work come together on the first Saturday of November.
“It’s really good on show day when at 12 o’clock we see people still coming in the gates and families sitting on the grass watching their kids on the rides and think, ‘we’ve done it again’,” Mrs Watts said.
