Timothy, 14, was a gold medalist and high distinction award winner in the International Competitions and Assessments for Schools, which tests more than one million students from across Australia, New Zealand and Asia.
The year 8 student also took part in the science, maths and English tests, claiming a distinction in maths and credit in English.
Timothy, from Cobden, first began taking part in the annual competition in grade 3 and won the maths section in 2012.
“It’s nice doing a little extra assessment outside of the school curriculum,” he said.
Timothy lists his favourite subjects as IT, science, maths and English and sees a future career in information technology. “My dad’s a telecom engineer, I would probably enjoy doing something like that – I definitely want to do something with computers,” Timothy said.
