The Warrnambool and District league club retained all bar one of its committee members at its annual general meeting on Tuesday.
Dylan Walsh remain president as the Sharks navigate what they hope will be a short-term break from senior football and netball competition. Long-time Sharks member Chris McGrath said the club would still provide support for university students with scholarships and run past player functions during its “gap year”.
“We’ll still perform the shuffle where appropriate and generally inappropriately probably,” he said.
McGrath said the Sharks remained upbeat about returning to competition in 2018.
“We’re optimistic student numbers can improve and we’re going to work with Deakin to do whatever we can to assist as well,” he said.
