The original playground was removed and a new one installed.
Warrnambool Mayor Kylie Gaston said the playground had already proven popular.
“It’s fantastic,” she said. “It’s been so well recieved. It is really being embraced by the people in the neighborhood.”
Cr Gaston said the improved facilities had drawn praise from residents.
“The feedback is so positive,” she said. “It’s been well constructed and the trees, when they grow, will offer natural shade.”
Families are able to come to the playground and enjoy a picnic lunch at undercover tables. Play equipment includes two slides, a climbing wall, all abilities basket swing, monkey bars, flying fox and a swing set.
The council consulted residents on the playground upgrade and, where possible, their feedback was incorporated into the design.
