The 23-year-old from Brisbane is bound for the south-west’s two Gifts at Warrnambool and Terang this weekend as he looks to build on his stellar efforts from last season.
“Everything has been going really well – all signs are pointing in a good direction,” he said.
“All the training has been going great.”
Saturday’s Warrnambool Gift will be Dunmall’s first race in Victoria since he took out the Stawell event back in March.
He will follow it up by competing in the Terang Gift on Sunday. It will be the first time he has competed in the south-west events.
“It’s the first time I’m going that way in Victoria,” Dunmall said.
“I’m looking forward to exploring that part of the state.
“Some of my squad members wanted to go down.”
His competitive season started off three weeks ago and, while he had some hip issues the past two weeks, Dunmall was confident he would be right to go for the south-west double.
Racing will begin at Brauerander Park from 12.40pm on Saturday. On Sunday, races will be held at Terang Recreation Reserve from 11am-4pm.
All signs are pointing in a good direction.
