The dairy giant is working on a plan to build its new infant formula plant at Laverton, but Mr Ramsay said it was imperative for jobs to be retained in the south-west.
“Due to the existing plant in Koroit, Murray Goulburn should consider the benefits of consolidating its infrastructure in the south-west,” he said.
Speaking in state parliament on Tuesday, Mr Ramsay asked Regional Development Minister Jaala Pulford and Regional Development Victoria to act fast to encourage MG to commit to build the new plant at Koroit, creating more jobs in regional Victoria.
