Made up of eight pupils from grade 6, the team competed against schools from across the state late last week.
Allansford and district finished second overall in the pushcart section for small schools. This finish came thanks to strong showings in the sprint, endurance, obstacle course, design and construction and display and presentation competitions.
Grade 6 pupil Alannah Hein said the event was an exciting experience.
“I really enjoyed it, we had a lot of fun,” Alannah said.
“The best part about it was our teamwork, everyone worked together to help each other out.”
The team’s pushcart was built by school volunteer Rod Payne with input from the pupils. While the team shone in the racing of the pushcart, they also showed they know what it takes to make it tick.
In the design and construction section, Mr Payne pulled the pushcart apart and the team then had to put it back together.
