Warrnambool Agricultural Society chief sheep steward Peter McDonald said it was the first time a feature breed had been showcased since 2010.
The Australian Romney Association secretary said seven of 25 studs Australia-wide were showing up to 60 Romney entries in the main sheep pavilion with entries remaining open until Friday, October 21.
The feature breed will be judged by Malcolm Kilsby from the Glendene Park Romney Stud in Mount Gambier from 9.30am on Friday, October 28.
Mr McDonald said it would be a “big thing” and “a plus for the show society” to have exhibitors from Victoria, South Australia and Tasmania showing their finest.
