Voters have been reminded they have until 6pm Friday to return their completed ballot paper and avoid a fine. Ballots that are not posted or hand-delivered to their respective election office by this time cannot be counted. People who still haven’t received their ballot pack should call their council election office immediately on 1300 597 645 to arrange a replacement. Voting is compulsory for voters who are on the state roll. Voters aged 70 or over are encouraged to vote but will not be fined if they don’t.
