Hundreds turned out at Camperdown’s Theatre Royal on Friday night for the Corangamite Shire Youth Awards.

More than 50 young people from across the shire were nominated for the annual awards, which recognise the huge achievements of the region’s youth.

Top honours were awarded in 11 categories recognising a variety of skills and interest areas.
The winners were:
- Sports (individual male): Kurt McDonald
- Sports (individual female): Tully Watt
- Sports (group): Cobden Technical School lawn bowls team
- Music (individual): Jordan Watson
- Music (group): Runk
- Community service (individual): Jazzie Negrello
- Community service (group): Campderdown College VCAL students
- Workplace endeavour: Darcy McGlade
- Visual arts: Gerogina Jackson
- Performing arts: Jessica Treble
- Agriculture: Timboon Agricultural Program (TAP)
The celebrations included an art display and performances by local musicians and dance groups.
