Leaders in workplace safety were recognised at an awards ceremony this week.
Warrnambool Area Health and Safety Group (WASH) launched the awards for the first-time on Tuesday to recognise individuals and organisations going above and beyond to keep workers safe.
Paul Moulden received the individual award for outstanding occupational health and safety. The Warrnambool Crane Hire employee said he and the company had to take safety seriously every day.
“If things were to go wrong, they could really go wrong, so we have to be on top of job safety all the time,” he said.
WestVic Staffing Solutions student Andrew Borgmeyer was also acknowledged for excellence but was unable to attend the event.
