Mr Sanelli, an automotive technician, participated in the Mitsubishi 2016 Skills Program, which tested participants’ abilities in diagnosing jobs and car faults, product knowledge and hands-on skills.
Mr Sanelli was a regional finalist in 2013 and 2014 and said he was pleased to be named the top Mitsubishi technician in Australia.
He has been a mechanic for the past 22 years and worked at Callaghans for seven years. Mr Sanelli said he enjoyed the job and problem solving.
“I love diagnostics. I just love it,” Mr Sanelli said.
Service manager Rob Lee said it was an excellent and well-deserved achievement. “Being top in Australia in anything you do is pretty good so we’re very pleased,” Mr Lee said. “He puts a lot of work into it too.”
Mr Sanelli will travel to Japan in May as part of his award package.
