Mornington Peninsula diver Ms PT (pink tank) Hirschfield describes herself as a writer, underwater photographer and film-maker, swimming against terminal endometrial cancer one scuba dive at a time.
Diagnosed two years ago she committed to a dive-a-day for as long as she has life.
As part of International Women’s Dive Day, Ms Hirschfield will take part in dive events across the weekend.
“This is my first time diving around Warrnambool and I’m really excited about it,” she said.
Hosted by Warrnambool’s Daktari Surf and Dive shop, women in the community are invited to dive with Ms Hirschfield this weekend and share her inspirational story over dinner on Saturday night.
“My message is don’t give up. Don’t curl up in the corner and wait to die. Wake up each day and live.”
