The Rebels fell to Geelong Falcons in a high-scoring game at Simonds Stadium, 16.23 (119) to 14.7 (91).
South Warrnambool duo Hugh McCluggage and Charlie Lee, Koroit’s Willem Drew, Portland’s Lochie Huppatz and ex-Hawks junior Tanna Blackney-Noter all hit the scoreboard.
McCluggage, who is in the highly-rated AFL Academy, booted two goals in a best on ground performance.
Two-time Koroit premiership players Drew and James Gow, who has returned to the TAC Cup system as an overage prospect, were also among the Rebels’ best.
Huppatz and Blackney-Noter made their debuts for the Rebels.
Scores were tied at quarter-time but the Falcons, which featured Cobden product Sean Darcy, gained the ascendancy in the second term.
