The Standard has made it easier for you by conducting video interviews with the Warrnambool City Council candidates.
As part of the Face To Face project we asked each candidate the same five questions and filmed their responses, with hopes of giving voters an idea of each candidates' perspectives on local issues, as well as their personalities and presentation skills.
Only one out of the 12 council hopefuls, Rob Askew, declined to take part in the online project, telling The Standard: "It's not my thing''.
Voters can expect to receive their ballot packs in the mail this week outlining how to vote and including messages from each candidate.
Ballot papers must be completed and returned so they are in the hands of the Returning Officer by 6pm on Friday, October 26, when voting closes.
Voting is compulsory if your name is on the state electoral roll as of August 31, 2012.
For further information on the voting process go to www.vec.vic.gov.au.
A second Face To Face project will feature Moyne Shire candidates later this week.
