Held in Melbourne on the weekend, this was the second time the championships have taken place.
Cole won gold medals in the veteran kata, veteran kumite, veteran points sparring and black black open kumite.
Terang’s Tobi Cole came third place in the 14-15 male black belt. Competitors from across the country converged on Melbourne to take part in the event.
South-west competitors are now preparing to head to South Africa next month to take part in an international tournament in Cape Town.
In other news, two south-west instructors have achieved major milestones in their careers.
Warrnambool’s Frank McKenzie was graded and awarded 6th Dan grading.
Camperdown Instructor Peter Conroy was graded and awarded 5th Dan on Saturday at the annual Funakoshi Karate Gasshuku.
