The Bombers clinched their sixth flag in the past decade with victory against Moyston-Willaura in the grand final on Saturday.
The 10.9 (69) to 5.5 (35) win at Willaura came after they led by 14 points at half-time. A three-goals-to-one third term then broke open the match.
Defender Harnoor Saini was best afield – a remarkable end to his first full season of football – while Tom Jelliff and Nathan Uebergang kicked three goals each.
Bombers coach Brendan Mills said he was proud of the way his side – which included three sets of brothers and six players with the surname Rentsch – performed.
“I did a bit of the running last year, my son plays, and I could see a lot of potential in them. This year they’ve come together as a group,” he said.
“From the oldest boy, who turned 17 a couple of weeks ago, down to the 12-year-olds, you can see after training they’ll be having a meal and sitting together.
“They all mix in well, they’re all great mates.”
Mills said a quick start was the catalyst of the win. The Bombers kicked the opening three goals, forcing the Pumas to play catch-up.
Two of those went to Jelliff, who joined Saini, onballers Nick Bensch, Nathan Rentsch and Matt Rentsch and centre-half forward Campbell Watt in their best.
“The second quarter Moyston-Willaura came back with a bit of a charge but our boys stood up to the challenge,” Mills said.
“Then we ran away with it in the last half.”
