The annual Waves Gala Ball was again a sellout, with more than 300 revelers dancing the night away at a new location, Deakin Univeristy’s Warrnambool campus.
The total amount raised was still being tallied, but organisers expected it to be upwards of $20,000.
Now in its fourth year, the ball moved from its previous home, The Fun4Kids festival marquee, on the Warrnambool Civic Green to the university’s Ginger Kitchen cafe, bar and function room.
Organiser Bernie Price said most money was raised through two auctions. “There was a Gold Coast holiday for four people, a Port Fairy getaway package, a couple of holiday house packages in the Grampians and a Warrnambool Racing Club package up for grabs and each proved popular,” she said.
Since its inception in 2012 the ball has raised more than $100,000 for Peter’s Project.
