His call comes on the back of the ALP’s $50 million pledge to upgrade the State Library enabling it to broadcast classes to other libraries across Victoria.
Cr Neoh said council had been seeking funding for the joint library facility for a “long time” and said if both parties were serious about education and the regions, new learning centres should be a priority.
“We have particularly low year 12 retention in the south-west.
“Both parties say they are serious about education and unemployment,” he said.
“This would be the perfect pledge to show their commitment to those issues in this region.”
