But for Beamish Street kindergarten kids, it’s just good fun.
In recent weeks, the Merrivale pupils have visited the South Warrnambool and Beamish Street kinders to take children through a perceptual motor program that involves a series of physical activities such as an obstacle course, hopscotch and balancing.
Merrivale teacher Rebecca Clark said the faces of the four-year-olds at kindergarten lit up when they saw the Merrivale pupils arrive because they knew there was fun ahead.
She said the five Merrivale pupils who lead the action at the Beamish Street kinder were from the school’s sports crew that helped plan as well as deliver the program to kindergartens.
Other Merrivale pupils engaged with the wider community through activities such as fish releases and raising money for community projects, she said.
