Teamwork the key at Warrnambool badminton tournament

ONE team will carry Warrnambool’s top-grade fortunes at its badminton senior teams tournament this weekend.

Warrnambool Badminton Association’s Andrea Perrett- Fahey, Jacob Linford, Bevan Stokie, Jayden Stokie, Rhinanna McLeod and Susan Dickinson will compete against five other A grades sides at the two-day competition at the Arc.

Association secretary Kylie Divall said the team would acquit itself well against Melbourne-based entries.

“It’s pretty much the same team as last year,” Divall said. “They will have a fair crack at it.”

Divall said the competition had attracted 16 teams across  A, B, C and D grades from as far as Penola and Mount Gambier.

Play on Saturday is from  9.30am until 4.30pm and  from 9am until 2pm on Sunday.

Warrnambool Badminton Association’s junior teams tournament is in September.
