The ceremony commemorates the 1966 battle of Long Tan, on what is now known as Vietnam Veterans’ Day.
Warrnambool Vietnam Veterans sub-branch president Don Roberts encouraged all veterans to attend.
“The reason it is on Monday, August 18 at 6pm is because that date marks the major battle,” he said. “It was formerly known as Long Tan Day.”
After the ceremony Mr Roberts invited veterans to dinner at the Warrnambool RSL. Services will also be held in Hamilton at 11am and Portland at 6pm.
