Tickets for the masquerade-themed ball have sold out, with a full house of 450 guests set to dance the night away for a good cause.

The ball supports Peter’s Project, with more than $30,000 raised last year, and has proved so popular that tables for next year’s event are already being snapped up.

The marquee put up for Fun4Kids last week on the Civic Green will be transformed into a beautiful ballroom befitting the black tie event.

The ball will include a live and silent auction, photobooth and music from Melbourne cover band Reflections Of. 

Items up for grabs in the auctions include an AFL corporate box for round 23, golf packages, Port Fairy and Port Campbell accommodation getaways and signed sports jerseys. 

Attendees will enjoy a three-course meal cooked and designed by Daniel Myers, of Wyton Events and Catering, with highlights including paella arancini balls and slow-cooked pork belly.

Organisers have been planning the event for 12 months and will spend the four days before the ball setting up, with the help of volunteers from Warrnambool Central Rotary Club and Emmanuel College students. 

Waves Gala Ball organising committee member Bernie Price says the event has been well supported by the community over the last few years and believes locals enjoy the novelty.

“It’s very unique. It gives people the opportunity to have a bit of fun, get dressed up and I suppose the location makes it a bit different too,” Ms Price said.
