Plexus will play a feature concert today at St John’s Anglican Church from 1-3pm as part of the July Port Fairy Winter Weekends program. This ensemble is made up of Monica Curro (violin), Philip Arkinstall (clarinet), and Stefan Cassomenos (piano).
They are accomplished performers who have all played with Melbourne Symphony Orchestra.
Plexus formed last year and expect to release 21 new pieces of work during 2014.
Port Fairy Winter Weekends co-ordinator Ross Morey said he was excited about having such a well credentialled group headlining this weekend.
“It will be a great value show, $25 and just $20 for concession to come along for this show is a great opportunity for people who love good music,” Mr Morey said.
While the theme of the weekend is “a food wonderland” both music and art will also feature prominently.
Last night, Eddie and the Exciters kicked off the fun when they provided the entertainment for a cabaret at the cricket clubrooms.
