Southern Cross Ten is changing frequencies to free up the broadcasting spectrum for new services, including mobile broadband.
After the channel change, viewers in the greater Hamilton area will need to retune their TV or device in order to find the station again.
Southern Grampians Shire mayor Albert Calvano said the federal government’s Department of Communications had notified the council about the change.
Cr Calvano said there may be some temporary outages to all TV channels in the days leading up to, on the day of and a day or two after the retune date.
“These outages are unavoidable as there will be necessary engineering work being undertaken at the Mt Dundas TV transmission tower,” he said.
