Warrnambool welfare agency Brophy Family and Youth Service has developed the Elevate program in an effort to address the growing number of unemployed youth in the Warrnambool community.
Brophy’s David Hancock said Elevate was “a little different” to traditional mentoring programs.
“It is solely focused on employment skills outcomes. We have developed a model that targets young people with recognised vulnerabilities that inhibit their transition into work,” he said.
“We then try to match them with best-fit positions in the workplace.”
He said Elevate uses a flexible model which is adaptable to a variety of industries, workplaces and individuals.
