HFNL gallery, wrap: Saints march past Seagulls in three-point win

SECOND-placed Koroit survived an enthralling contest with Port Fairy, claiming a dramatic three-point win at Gardens Oval.

Assistant coach Mathew Buck's goal from a tight angle after a free kick deep in time on put Koroit in front as it claimed a 9.12 (66) to 9.9 (63) triumph.

Koroit led by eight points at three-quarter time but the lead changed six times in a stunning final quarter.

The win cements Koroit in second while Port Fairy, which started the day fifth on the table, are now sixth.

Cobden ended its six-game losing streak with a 33-point win over the Hamilton Kangaroos at Melville Oval.

Teenager Jack Hammond kicked four goals in his senior debut for the Bombers.

The game was tighter than the 18.13 (121) to 13.10 (88) showed. After leading by 20 points at three-quarter time, the Kangaroos closed within nine with the first two goals of the term. But the Bombers steadied.

North Warrnambool Eagles gave coach Bernard Moloney his second win against his old side Camperdown this season with a 15-point win at Leura Oval.

The Eagles set the pace throughout the match with Mark Murphy unstoppable up forward. He finished with 8.3 in a stunning return from a knee injury.

Portland extended its winning streak on the road to two after a 33-point win over Terang Mortlake at Terang.
