Warrnambool tenpin bowlers off the pace at Victorian Senior Shield

WARRNAMBOOL tenpin bowlers have finished seventh of nine sides at the Victorian Senior Shield in Bendigo.

The pin rattlers finished the two-day tournament with 91.5 points, well behind champion Sunraysia (140.5).

The score included a contribution of 60 from the women — Trish Beasley, Sherene Sheen, Jenny McKane, Sue Hall, Maxine Campbell and Glenda Dixon.

The men — Steven Sheen, Eddie Way, Les Johnson, Trevor Sparrow, David Higgins and Peter Dowlin —  earned 31.5 points.

Sheen was the pick of the women, finishing with an average of 177 and a high game of 224.

Johnson (196 average, 227 high game) and Sparrow (195 average, 238 high game) led the way for the men.
