Coeliac Victoria and Tasmania are holding their annual regional event in the city allowing residents to listen to three international experts on coeliac disease and gluten-free diets.
Guest speakers are advanced accredited practising dietitian Dr Sue Shepherd, gastroenterologist and research fellow Dr Jason Tye-Din and gastroenterologist and researcher Dr Evan Newnham.
“This is a great opportunity for the community in the region to discover and learn more about the latest developments and management of coeliac disease,” Dr Shepherd said. She will outline tips and tricks in managing a gluten-free diet.
Dr Tye-Din will focus his presentation on coeliac disease, from symptoms to diagnosis, medical management and research while Dr Evan Newnham will speak about the differences between coeliac disease and gluten intolerance.
The conference will be held at Western District Health on Sunday, June 15.
