A Police media spokeswoman said the man, believed to be aged in his 50s, was flying with another man over the Bridgewater Bay National Park about 5pm yesterday.
"The pair were flying over remote scrub when one man noticed the other descending." the spokeswoman said.
"He raised the alarm and shortly after police and emergency services searched the area.
"The man was found deceased in scrub about 100 metres from the beach at Cape Bridgewater."
The spokeswoman said The Australian Transport Safety Breau and the Hang Gliders Federation had also notified.
