Sam Fisk was a further 13 seconds off the pace in third. Warrnambool Athletics Club president John Keats said the run — part of the club’s winter series — attracted 55 runners and eight walkers.
Keats said the club was happy with the numbers.
“It was a really good run, especially because you’re away from the hills,” he said.
“It’s nice and flat and picturesque. The Halls Gap fun run was on the same day so we knew a few (people) had gone to that so what we had was good numbers for the run, and to pick up eight walkers, we have opened that up for free because we want to promote walking.”
Warrnambool Athletics Club’s next event is on June 8.
