Don’t expect to see any cats or llamas on the Million Paws Walk — it’s strictly a dog affair.
Organisers are still counting up the numbers but a simple glance at the hundreds participants said enough.
“It was very busy,” event co-ordinator Erin Parkinson said.
“Apparently we had the record for the number of online registrations.”
While previously strange participants like guinea pigs were kept at home this year there were some pleasantly odd sights.
“There were a couple of elderly dogs that were too old to walk so they were pushed around in prams,” Ms Parkinson said.
Funds raised from the walk are sent to the charity’s head office in Melbourne.
“It’s the biggest fund-raiser of the year for the RSPCA,” she said.
