A 2013 Mazda sedan, left without the parking brake on, rolled backwards through busy evening traffic along Thompson Street, over the Gray Street roundabout before smashing through the front window at Kerr and Co Real Estate just after 6pm.
Hamilton Police Sergeant David Walkley said it was "very lucky" the unoccupied car didn't strike anybody.
"It's unusual for them to roll so far and without hitting anything on the way," Sergeant Brown said.
"A 50-year-old Hamilton woman has been given an infringement notice for failing to properly secure a vehicle."
