A truck is believed to have lost a small amount of diesel on the road, near the Raglan Parade intersection, just after noon.
Heavy rain and the spill combined to create treacherous driving conditions, with one motorist saying the slick created was “worse than ice”.
There were no accidents or injuries and police, CFA and Warrnambool City Council crews attended to clean up the spill.
Meanwhile, the Bureau of Metrology has issued severe weather warning, including damaging winds, rain, hail and possible thunderstorms today.
