The Demons led by 16 points at three-quarter-time and held on to record a 11.7 (73) to 10.7 (67) win at Timboon Recreation Reserve today.
Gun onballer Dylan Cahill was the hero for the victors, kicking his second goal for the last term at the 15-minute mark to put his side 15 points up.
The Bombers had all the play thereafter. But they could only manage three consecutive behinds before Paul Butters converted on the run at the 31-minute mark.
The goal was the last score of the day as the hosts held on to record their first win of the season, having led for the majority of the match.
Exacerbating the Bombers' defeat was a dislocated knee cap to livewire Blake Rudland-Castles in the last quarter, just moments before Cahill's goal.
The injury sparked a four-minute delay in play and a verbal altercation between spectators, with the last quarter clocking 35 minutes, 31 seconds.
In other matches, Nirranda stormed home from nine points down at three-quarter-time to beat South Rovers 12.6 (78) to 8.11 (59) at Walter Oval.
The Lions edged ahead after kicking 3.6 to 2.1 in the third term. But they were helpless as the Blues piled on 5.1 to 0.3 to end the match.
Nirranda coach Aidan Cole kicked five goals to led all scorers.
Merrivale cemented itself as the flag favourite with a convincing 46-point win against Dennington at Merrivale Recreation Reserve.
The Tigers were inaccurate but had enough scoring shots to down the Dogs 14.21 (105) to 9.5 (59), with Jet Dowie booting five goals.
Kolora-Noorat did what it had to in beating Deakin University 20.13 (133) to 11.12 (78) at Noorat Recreation Reserve.
Panmure needed an eight-goal final term to run out 18.8 (116) to 11.3 (69) victors against Old Collegians at Davidson Oval.
And Allansford was too good for a competitive Russells Creek, winning 25.15 (165) to 9.6 (60) at Allansford Recreation Reserve.
In the A grade netball, South Rovers scored their first win of the season against Nirranda, prevailing 44-41 in a thriller.
Unbeaten Old Collegians claimed flag favouritism with a 41-30 win against Panmure in the grand final rematch.
Allansford defeated Russells Creek 37-25, a result which congests an already crowded ladder, while Dennington rose to second by beating Merrivale 43-34.
Kolora-Noorat defeated Deakin University 39-30 to claim fifth spot and Timboon Demons were comfortable 72-21 winners against East Warrnambool.
