RSL Warrnambool sub-branch president John Miles said funds raised through the appeal went to welfare support for serving and returned servicemen and women and their families.
Mr Miles said half of the funds raised were kept by the local RSL sub-branch for its own welfare work and the rest went that of the Victorian head office, to which the local sub-branch had access.
He said up to 30 people would staff about six badge stalls throughout Warrnambool until Anzac Day.
