Brian O’Halloran and Co rural property sales agent John Nunn said a grazing property on Three Waterholes Road sold as a whole for $2750 an acre.
The deceased estate comprised 95.14-hectares (235-acres) with a three-bedroom home. “There was a good crowd of about 40 to 50 people. It was a good roll up with plenty of local support,” Mr O’Halloran said.
“It was a vigorous auction with four or five people bidding.”
Mr Nunn said the market in the Heywood area looked very promising and the property was purchased by a local farmer for well over its reserve price.
Sommerset Park, on the Henty Highway at Heywood, sold under the hammer for $497,000.
Southern Grampians Livestock and Real Estate director Ashley Crow said the 40.47-hectare (100-acre) property sold to New South Wales buyers before a crowd of about 30 people.
“We are very happy, it was a great result,” Mr Crow said.
