On April 26 the pair will row 42 kilometres on a rowing machine at Anytime Fitness to raise funds for Peter’s Project and beyondblue.
Mr Dales and Mrs Gore met at the gym and decided to embark on the rowing effort together.
“Forty-two kilometres is a marathon for a bike rider or running,” Mr Dales said.
“We couldn’t do either one of those so we thought we would row.”
The pair began training at the start of the year.
“We started in January,” Mr Dales said. “We have been slowly building our distances and have done up to 32 kilometres so far.”
Mr Dale said donating to Peter’s Project and beyondblue was important to both of them.
“We have both been affected by cancer and depression in our lives and we wanted to do something,” he said.
“We thought this was the perfect opportunity.”
Mr Dale predicted the rowing marathon would take about three to four hours.
“People can come and donate on the day or head on to our personal Facebook pages and find the link,” he said.
The event will start at 7am.
