“There would have been many more than the five I found on Monday, plus plastic wrapper packets,” Damien Brown said.
“They probably came out the stormwater outlet with a lot of other stuff. It’s scary to think you’d be swimming and walking through the rubbish. I suggest the council puts a finer mesh on the outlet pipe.”
He contacted the city council office, which advised people who find discarded syringes not to touch them and contact the office on 1300 003 280.
