A BOOKAAR man caught driving five times while suspended after losing his licence due to demerit points has been convicted and fined $1500.

Luke William Oborne, 20, of Darlington Road, pleaded guilty in the Warrnambool Magistrates Court this week to a string of offences including using an unregistered car, failing to stop, theft, driving an unroadworthy car, exceeding 100km/h (116km/h), failing to answer bail and learner-driver charges.
As well as being fined, his driver’s licence was cancelled for three months. The offending happened between October last year and January this year when Oborne he continued to drive after losing his licence due to demerit points.
Oborne said his life had gone off the rails last year but was now back on track.
Magistrate Peter Mellas said it time Oborne grew up.
