Ryan Holmes, 37, previously of Holloway Road, Stawell, and now of Portland, appeared in Warrnambool Magistrates Court this week for a bail application.
He had been charged with recklessly causing injury and unlawful assault relating to an incident with a domestic partner on May 5, 2012.
Mr Holmes was also charged with criminal damage after allegedly kicking a taxi two weeks later. He failed to appear in the Stawell Magistrates Court on September 4, 2012, and warrants were issued for his arrest.
He is understood to have moved to Queensland but returned and was picked up by police on the warrants at the weekend before appearing in court on Monday.
Mr Holmes was released on bail with the conditions he provide a $250 surety and report to Portland police on Mondays and Fridays.
His charges have been adjourned to a further hearing in the Ballarat Magistrates Court on April 24.
