Hampden pre-season cup moved as Gardens Oval deemed unsafe

TODAY'S Hampden football league pre-season cup competition has been moved to Friendly Societies' Park.

The playing surface of Port Fairy's Gardens Oval was deemed unsafe after some drainage works had been carried out on the ground, league chief executive officer Mike Farrow said.

The netball cup competition is continuing at Port Fairy.

The football competition is running late as a result of the venue switch, which was only made before the first game a short time ago.
