Adam Forbes, 45, now of no fixed address, was arrested on outstanding warrants on Tuesday at Beaufort and appeared in the Warrnambool Magistrates Court later that afternoon.
He was remanded in custody until Monday, when he is expected to appear in court again for a filing hearing.
Co-accused Tony Lucas, 44, previously of Casterton and Mount Gambier, was extradited from Tasmania two weeks ago on warrants.
He is expected to appear in court next Monday for a committal mention.
The men are alleged to have been involved in a burglary of a Coleraine home on the 2011 Queen’s Birthday long weekend in which a safe containing jewellery valued up to $180,000 was stolen.
Police said the pair were bailed but both failed to appear in court, leading to warrants being issued for their arrest.
