Zoning plan for Port Fairy

A ZONING plan for Port Fairy’s western edge is still months away as Moyne Shire decides what to do with the area made up of small hobby farms and houses.

The issue entered the spotlight last year after council rejected a bid by Time and Tide High Tea to provide accommodation because of zoning confusion.

The council has spoken to consultants and now expects to have a draft Port Fairy West Structure Plan by May.

Moyne’s sustainable development director Oliver Moles said there were question marks over what to do with low-lying land west of South Beach.
